For two weeks, the NG-CDF Board convened a national sensitization programme that brought together Members of NG-CDF Committees, Fund Account Managers and National Sub-County Accountants from all 290 constituencies across the country in one shared pursuit: better governance, stronger accountability, and more impactful service delivery at the constituency level.
The programme was designed to go beyond knowledge transfer. Participants were not only equipped with the tools and frameworks necessary for sound constituency management, but were equally given deliberate space to raise issues arising from their work at the constituency level, engaging directly with leadership and technical experts in a dialogue that was as practical as it was necessary. Throughout the sessions, leadership consistently emphasized the importance of accountability, compliance and responsible management of public resources, and encouraged participants to apply every insight gained as a direct commitment to the communities they serve. The true measure of any training is not what is learned in the room, but what is carried back and put into practice.
In Embu, Alternate Director to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Economic Planning, Mr. Festus Wangwe, set the tone at the opening, underscoring the national government’s investment in strengthening constituency level governance. The closing ceremony was graced by Board Chairperson Hon. John Olago Oluoch, CBS, Hon. Clive Gisairo, MP for Kitutu Masaba Constituency and member of the National Assembly Select Committee.
In Eldoret, Board Chairperson Hon. John Olago Oluoch, CBS officially opened the training, while the closing ceremony was graced by Hon. Mary Maingi, Member of Parliament for Mwea Constituency, Mr. Festus Wangwe, and Ag. Chief Executive Officer Mr. Benjamin Magut, who collectively encouraged participants to uphold accountability, professionalism and prudent management of NG-CDF resources in their respective constituencies.
In Mombasa, Board Director Hon. Naomi Masitsa opened the session, with Board Director Dr. William Sugut presiding over the closing ceremony.
During the closing ceremony, participants were awarded certificates of participation, an acknowledgement of their engagement and a reminder of the responsibility they carry as stewards of public resources at the grassroots level.
The programme forms part of the Board’s continued efforts to strengthen compliance, enhance service delivery and promote the effective management of the Fund across all 290 constituencies.
