Mung’ala Secondary School in Machakos Town Constituency has received a significant boost following the official commissioning of a modern 200-capacity multipurpose hall consisting of a fully equipped kitchen. Constructed through the NG-CDF Board’s Best Practice Demonstration Programme (BPDP)
Students had no dedicated facility and were forced to eat their meals in classrooms.
With the completion of the project, learners now have a clean, spacious, and comfortable dining area, while the modern kitchen, fitted with boilers, has improved the school’s capacity to prepare meals safely and efficiently.
The project was officially commissioned by the area Member of Parliament, Hon. Caleb Mule, who was accompanied by Hon. Eng. Vincent Musyoka, (Mwala),Hon. Fabian Kyule (Kangundo), Hon. Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga)Hon.Basil Ngui(Yatta), local leaders, NG-CDF Board Secretariat staff, members of the school community, and residents.
Speaking during the event, the leaders highlighted the significance of the project in improving the learning environment and enhancing the welfare of students. They noted that providing quality school infrastructure is essential to creating a conducive learning environment, supporting better educational outcomes, and ensuring learners have access to safe and dignified facilities.
The project reflects the Board’s commitment to delivering transformative projects through its Special Initiatives and Partnerships Programme.
