A STEP TOWARDS BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY IN CHANGAMWE CONSTITUENCY
Our team monitoring projects at the Coast region led by Director Festus Wangwe and accompanied by Director Josephine Kanyi, Hon. Janet Teiyaa, and Ms. Elizabeth Kitundu met with Fatuma Omar( Changamwe Sub- County Director of Education) to discuss education projects and align them with NG-CDF’s mandate for better service delivery.
The team visited several key projects funded by the NG-CDF at Mwingo Primary School, Mikadini Primary School, the Changamwe NG-CDF Office, and the Ahmed Shahame Mwidani Technical Training Institute.
During the visit, the team identified several challenges including:
• Limited land for expansion, encroachment issues, and teacher shortages affecting learning outcomes at Mwingo Primary School.
•Lack of space, congestion, soil instability, and swampy conditions affecting learning and construction at Mikadini Primary School.
•Inadequate branding and visibility of the NG-CDF office.
To address these, the Board recommended engaging stakeholders to resolve land disputes and secure space for future expansions at Mwingo Primary School. Additionally, the team emphasized the need to work closely with the Ministry of Education to address teacher shortages. The Board also recommended improving office branding to align with NG-CDF’s guidelines for better visibility. Finally the team commended the excellent work and quality of the projects in the constituency, highlighting their contribution not only to the people of Changamwe but also to the broader national development goals.
