The National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board takes part in a tree *growing exercise today in Khwisero Constituency.

The event was led by Mr.James Muhati, Principal Secretary, State department of Economic Planning .

9,000 tree seedlings were planted at Misango Hills in Kwhisero Constituency,1,000 seedlings distributed to lacals.

The hills are water catchment areas for Kakamega, Vihiga and Siaya Counties.

Speaking during the event at Elwangale Primary School, The PS appreciated various efforts put by the Government in ensuring that the Country’s forest cover reaches 30% by 2032.

On his part, NG-CDF Board CEO Mr.Yusuf Mbuno emphasised on the importance of green accounting and the Board’s dedication in implementing environmental projects.

The Board remains committed in supporting the government’s efforts in promoting environmental activities countrywide.
