N.A.S.C & NG-CDF Board Field Visit in Rabai & Kaloleni

NASC & NG-CDF BOARD FIELD INSPECTION VISIT IN KALOLENI & RABAI CONSTITUENCIES
Article 124 of the Constitution mandates Parliament to establish Committees. The Committees act as agents of the House in discharging its legislative, oversight and representation functions under Article 95 of the Constitution.
The National Assembly Select Committee on National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board chaired by Hon.Musa Sirma together with NG-CDF Board Directors Mr.Paul Kibet, Mr. Richard Mwarema and CEO Mr.Yusuf mbuno conducted inspection visits in Kaloleni and Rabai constituencies in Kilifi County.
Kaloleni constituency has so far constructed and equipped 11 schools through NG-CDF.
Hon. Paul Kahindi, area MP, informed the team that Kaloleni is one area seriously hit by poverty and requested that the law be changed to enable NG-CDF to fund school feeding programs.
Projects visited include Kambe/Ribe Police station, Kizuruni Primary School, Kombeni Girls Secondary School, and Paul Katana High School.
In Rabai constituency, the team was led by the area MP Hon. Anthony Kenga, who showcased the impact that NG-CDF has had in the area, particularly for the needy students. Rabai has seen high transition rates from secondary to tertiary, colleges, and universities, since the introduction of NG-CDF.
Hon. Musa Sirma, leading the delegation, encouraged the constituency committees on the need for transparency, accountability, and compliance to the laws governing the implementation of NG-CDF
Mr. Mbuno reminded the committees that there is never a gap in government and that all NG-CDF projects must be funded to completion regardless of who initiated them (especially during transition from one leadership to the other)
Other Honorable members present during the inspection visit were Hon. Joshua Oduma, Hon Beatrice Elachi, Hon. Alfred Kipronoh, Hon. Joshua Mbithi, Hon. Susan Ngugi and Hon. Mohamed Machele.
