The National Assembly’s Select Committee on the National Government Constituency Development Fund, chaired by Hon. Musa Sirma (Elama Ravine), convened a public participation forum at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiambu County.
The objective of the forum is to refine the proposed amendment to the National Government Constituency Development Act of 2015, aligning it with a recent Supreme Court judgment.
This ruling emphasized the importance of maintaining a clear separation of powers between the National Government and County Governments.
The residents expressed their appreciation for the positive impact of the Fund, particularly in the areas of education and development projects. They also requested an increase in bursary allocations.
The Committee acknowledged the valuable input from the residents regarding the amendments and assured them that their suggestions would be seriously considered.
